Mentor Engineering Congratulates Texas Transit Authority (TTA) Award Winners

Mentor Engineering is proud to be a Paratransit ITS supplier to two Texas Transit Association award recipients: Brazos Transit District (The D) and Norma Zamora of the Brownsville Urban System (BUS).

A long-time leader in small urban transit, Brazos Transit District was awarded the Outstanding Small Urban Transit System Award at this year's TTA Annual Conference. The D's sixty buses service sixteen counties throughout Central and Eastern Texas and provide over 750,000 trips each year. Mentor Streets CAD/AVL software aids The D in managing their fixed-route buses, while Mentor Ranger® in-vehicle computers installed in entire fleet help reduce operating costs, increase driver and passenger safety, and provide excellent customer service.

Recognized for her transit leadership, Norma Zamora of the Brownsville Urban System (BUS) was honored with this year's Outstanding General Member Award. As the Director of BUS, Norma oversees operations of the agency's thirty-one buses and ensures excellent service for its more than 1.7 million passengers each year. To help Norma's efforts in providing safe, efficient and reliable transportation to the City of Brownsville, the BUS uses Mentor MDC in-vehicle computers in their paratransit buses combined with their scheduling software in the office.

Mentor extends its congratulations to both recipients and looks forward to a continuing partnership with these two transit leaders.
