Loaded with upgraded features, Ranger is now available with a 16-channel GPS receiver and integrated navigation with turn-by-turn voice prompts. Along with the standard data communications, Ranger's integrated modem now supports complete voice communications with hands-free voice calling; enabling cell phone use to be completely controlled. Mentor Ranger is extremely rugged and built to withstand the demands of the harsh vehicle environment. Meeting MIL STD 810F standards for vibration, shock, and dust resistance, Ranger is also IP54 rated for environmental dust and water. Ranger offers navigation features such as intuitive viewing options, address look-up, and regular map data updates that help drivers stay on schedule and are especially useful for newer drivers. If there is a schedule change, dispatchers can inform drivers instantly with electronic messages. This enables fleets to operate more efficiently with the potential for more customer pick-ups and avoid detours and delays. Drivers can also communicate with dispatchers using canned text messages, reducing the number of calls dispatchers have to field. In addition to electronic messages, Ranger has a voice modem option that allows drivers to use Ranger as a cell phone, removing the need for radios and/or providing additional backup for voice communications in emergency situations.

Ranger is compatible with virtually every commercially available wireless data network in North America and Europe, from two-way radio networks, to IP-based public wireless networks and WiFi. Updating Ranger units over the air is simple and effortless with Mentor's XMobile Manager® (XMM). XMM is a sophisticated, easy-to-use software suite that allows you to quickly update programs on your mobile units from the office through simple wizard prompts, day or night, eliminating downtime costs.
