CALGARY, AB — February 17, 2009

CityBus, of Lafayette, Indiana, has selected a fixed-route Transit ITS system from Mentor Engineering for implementation in their seventy vehicle fleet. CityBus provides fixed-route transit service to Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana, including service for Purdue University.

Martin Sennett, General Manager at CityBus, spoke about the decision to change ITS providers: "Customer service was the biggest issue with our previous provider. So far, I have been very pleased with the pace of the new implementation. We have a great working relationship with Mentor Engineering and I'm sure it will stay that way into the future."

The Mentor Streets® Transit ITS solution will provide CityBus with Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location, in-vehicle schedule adherence alerts, real-time passenger information, wayside signs, and comprehensive reporting and scheduling capabilities. Using these tools, CityBus can improve on-time performance, streamline scheduling processes, increase route efficiency, and provide better customer service.
