Oregon Taxi serves the two cities of Eugene and Springfield, with a joint population of nearly 200,000 people. While each city presents its own unique geographical challenges, the greater concern for Oregon Taxi was the wide service area and rapidly increasing call volumes received at the dispatch center. Call-time efficiency was a key area they wanted to improve.
 

Solution

Oregon Taxi looked to Mentor IntelliFleet®, an electronic dispatch and automated call-taking system for taxi, to help efficiently manage the over 800 calls they received each day. With IntelliFleet's Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) integration, Oregon Taxi can track their vehicles 24/7. The IntelliReports module of IntelliFleet allows them to run reports to get a transparent view of driver activity, schedules and billing for the day, week, month and year.
 

The 37-vehicles in Oregon Taxi's fleet are also equipped with Mentor's in-vehicle computers that act as the conduit for all of the data sent out from IntelliFleet. These robust computers can handle the daily rigors of the taxi environment.
 

Results

From improving call-time efficiency and response times, to enhancing customer service and driver fairness, IntelliFleet streamlines Oregon Taxi's operations and brings the organization to a new level of performance.
