eNET Dispatch provides web-based fleet management and software solutions to make concrete pumping tasks more efficient and accurate. In order to get their application to the market quickly, eNET Dispatch needed a stable mobile computing platform.
Solution
eNET Dispatch built a proprietary mobile application for use in the concrete pumping industry. Building this powerful software application was simplified by Mentor's Software Development Kit (SDK). Using the SDK's custom-designed tools, CE enhancements, familiar languages and environments, eNET Dispatch developers could speed both their development and deployment time. Mentor Ranger® was selected as the in-vehicle platform to run eNET Dispatch's enterprise application. Rugged and compact, Ranger is a fully integrated mobile computer packaged as a single device, optimally designed for simplified development and deployment. Featuring an integrated GPS receiver and wireless modem, Ranger is equipped to accommodate hands-free voice and data communications and supply navigation instructions to drivers.
Results
eNET Dispatch's application is now running on Ranger at Island Pumping, a concrete pumping company in Nanaimo, BC. The robust application has given Island Pumping a customized system that allows their equipment and pump hours to be tracked for better resource planning and improved communication. "Now we are able to very accurately predict how much time it will take to complete a job. Customers then know what to expect," says Rick Mayer, Owner and President of Island Pumping. "There is an industry standard to charge a minimum number of hours per job, but we have been able to eliminate this as we are much more efficient now. If everything was status quo with the economy, I expect we would be saving between $50,000 and $100,000 per year."
